Republic of Georgia

Prisoners of Hope is leading a short term medical and clean water mission to the Republic of Georgia November 4th-18th, 2020. ROG, at the intersection of Europe and Asia, is a former Soviet republic that’s home to Caucasus Mountain villages and Black Sea beaches. It’s famous for Vardzia, a sprawling cave monastery dating to the 12th century, and the ancient wine-growing region Kakheti. The capital, Tbilisi, is known for the diverse architecture and mazelike, cobblestone streets of its old town. With all of the history and beauty it brings, its prison system has been under international scrutiny due to prisoner abuse and horrid living conditions. They are in the middle of prison reform and it is the perfect time for POH to shine the light of God's love. We will bring a small medical team and offer basic check-ups and optometry. We will also install clean water systems in as many prisons as we can. Lastly, we will lift spirits through sports. We will be offering soccer balls and pumps to the prisoners. This is our first time here and extremely excited to see the hand of God direct our steps as we represent Him in this beautiful country.  Cost of the trip is $3250 which covers Airfare, lodging, breakfast and dinner, transportations and all medical and ministry expenses.
